What is Bistronomy?
Bistronomy is the combination of classic French bistro culture and refined gastronomy in a more relaxed and accessible setting.
The concept originated in Paris, where chefs wanted to cook at a high level outside the traditional fine dining world. Bistronomy is about quality, seasonality, craftsmanship and atmosphere: strong products, classic techniques and attention to wine, combined with the energy of a modern bistro.
At V&A Bar • Bistro, we bring that philosophy to Amsterdam.

Our kitchen is rooted in French tradition while moving with the seasons and the rhythm of Amsterdam.

Bistronomy d’Amsterdam
On the Prinsengracht, in the heart of the Jordaan, we combine classic French bistro dishes, shared dining and an extensive selection of French wines with the energy of the city.
From gougères, escargots and tartare to côte de boeuf and pithivier, complemented by changing seasonal dishes. Classical techniques form the foundation, combined with a relaxed and contemporary bistro atmosphere.
For us, Bistronomy d’Amsterdam means bringing together the refinement of French cuisine, the atmosphere of a Parisian bistro and the dynamism of Amsterdam in one experience.
“From an extensive dinner to a spontaneous glass of wine at the bar: at our bistro, everything revolves around good food, attention and atmosphere.”
